About Marilena Mross
Advises on complex disputes and high-value matters across the international yachting and insurance sectors
Marilena Mross represents clients in complex maritime and insurance disputes and advises on the full lifecycle of superyacht projects and other high-value private wealth assets.
Marilena represents commercial clients in high-value disputes before German courts and international arbitral tribunals, with a particular emphasis on maritime, trade and (re)insurance matters. Her contentious work regularly involves significant cross-border exposure and multi-million Euro claims. Alongside her disputes practice, she advises insurers and underwriters on a broad range of commercial insurance matters, including coverage analysis, claims handling, the drafting of policy wordings, and the management of large and complex losses.
A core focus of Marilena’s work is the international yachting industry. She advises owners, shipyards, managers, financiers, insurers, brokers and designers across the full yacht lifecycle, from newbuilding and sale and purchase transactions through financing, registration and regulatory compliance to commercial management, operation, crewing and chartering. She has acted on high-value newbuilding and sale and purchase projects for well-known owners and shipyards across the leading global yachting hubs, and has advised on multi-million Euro yacht disputes, including construction defects, delivery delays, warranty claims and casualties.
Marilena’s private wealth practice extends to other high-value assets such as aviation and fine art, where she advises private individuals, family offices and their advisers on transactional, regulatory and contentious matters.
Marilena is an active member of the international yachting community and currently serves as Vice President of Young Professionals in Yachting Germany (YPY Germany).
