Dr Stefan Ullrich is a trusted adviser to national and international insurers, underwriters, coverholders and insurance intermediaries in complex insurance matters, with a particular focus on marine, transport and specialty insurance. He is widely recognised for his expertise in these areas and valued for his long-standing experience and close ties to the London insurance market.

He combines deep expertise in coverage, liability defence and recourse with extensive experience in handling high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes. Regularly acting before German courts, he also coordinates cross-border proceedings and advises on the strategic management of complex international claims.

His core practice lies in marine and transport insurance, including hull and machinery, war risks, loss of hire and cargo, complemented by significant experience in property and liability lines. In addition, he has developed a strong reputation in specialty insurance, including entertainment, production risks, event cancellation, fine art, valuables and cash in transit.

Dr Ullrich is closely connected to the London insurance market and regularly advises German, European and London Market insurers (including Lloyd’s and the Company Market), as well as managing agents and coverholders. His work goes beyond disputes: he supports underwriting and claims teams on policy drafting, renewals and the development of new insurance products across marine, transport and specialty lines.
